FUNCTIONAL OVERVIEW

The following is a functional overview of MAG10 LMS.

Training Modules

The MAG10 LMS is comprised of a front-end interface and backend database specifically designed to allow Medical Device Companies to use templates to create web based training modules that are available for viewing by their authorized personnel. Each Training Module is comprised of the following:

  • The Test Introduction Screen contains instructions on how to complete the test.
  • The Training Content is comprised of the course content uploaded by the designated Administrator(s).
  • The Test is comprised of randomly selected questions from the pool of Test Questions.
  • The Test Summary is a results summary available on conclusion of the test.

There is no limit to the number of Training Modules that can be uploaded to the MAG10 LMS. The Total available disk space is 2.5 gigabytes. Additional space is available for an additional fee. For an optimal User experience content file size for each module should not exceed 20Mb. The recommended User system requirements are Windows XP, Internet Explorer 5.x onwards, 512MB RAM, Pentium III 300 MHz processor.

Administrator Functions

The system is designed to allow maximum flexibility to the Client Administrator. The Administrator will have the ability to control the following:

  • Users Profiles – registration, user names, contact information, user groups
  • User Groups – creation of User Groups for different user types including different access levels to system functions.
  • Training Modules – uploading of content, creation of questions and answers and Test Introduction Screens
  • Test parameters – setting the time limit, required passing score, number of allowed attempts, certificate of completion
  • Broadcast Messaging – ability to send out messages to user groups (e.g. new training modules)

The Client Administrator can also set up Sub Administrators. The Sub Administrators have the ability to build online Training Modules but cannot make any changes to the User Profiles.

User Registration

Each user is registered in the system by the Client Administrator. The user is then sent an email notification and asked to complete the registration process. Users are assigned to User Groups according to their specific training requirements.

Test Process

  • Log in to the LMS
  • View the available Training Modules
  • Select the Training Module to be completed
  • Review content and complete questions.
  • Test Summary provided on conclusion.
  • Test data is submitted to the administrator database.

Types of Test Question

  • Multiple Choice - The administrator will determine how many answer options are available for each question. Only one answer is correct.
  • Multiple Selection - Different answer options will be provided. The administrator will determine how many options are available for each question. One set of options will indicate a correct answer. Administrator will select the correct answers.
  • True Or False - One of these options, true or false, will be provided as the correct answer. Administrator will determine the correct answer.
  • Mix Match - Two separate lists will be provided; the User will be required to match the items from both lists. The administrator will specify the number of options in each list.
  • Fill In the Blank - A word or phrase will need to be provided as the correct answer. The system will allow the administrator to provide different variations of the correct word or phrase as acceptable answers.

For all question types, an image may be uploaded as reference material.

Reports

System Users are tracked in the database. This data is output as reports. MAG10 LMS 2.1 system generated reports include:

  • By trainee – This report will provide a list of tests assigned to a user, their tests scores, number of attempts and current status. This data can be filtered by from / to date and user group.
  • By course taken – This report will provide administrator with list of tests with a one line summary including minimum score requirement, maximum attempts allowed, actual attempts and actual results. Administrator can filter the tests by Training module.
  • By User Group / Sub Group – reports can be generated indicating the total groups created, active groups, trainees under a particular group and training modules under a particular group
  • By Training Modules – these reports include total number of training modules, number of active training modules, total number of trainees and number of active trainees.

These reports can be viewed by the System Administrator and other designated Super Users. All available data can be exported from the MAG10 LMS database.
